HOBOKEN, N.J. – Isaac Robinson scored 21 points off the bench, including nine straight during a pivotal stretch late in the second half, and Berkeley (N.J.) College upended Allegheny, 57-54, Sunday on the campus of the Stevens Institute of Technology. The Gators held Berkeley to its lowest scoring output of the season, but couldn't manufacture a win in the first-ever meeting between the programs.

The Gators had several potential game-tying looks in the waning seconds, but were unable to capitalize on missed free throws. Allegheny relied heavily on the three – 28 of the team's 48 shots were from beyond the arc – but the team connected on just 32% of its long-distance attempts.

A combination of good defense and turnovers prevented either team from settling into an offensive rhythm, but the Gators further complicated their efforts by knocking down just 3-of-10 from the free-throw line while pulling down a season-low 27 rebounds. In addition, Allegheny was credited with a season-low 10 assists and was denied a block for the first time all season.

A three by Josh Valentic followed by consecutive baskets by Ryan Stanko gave Allegheny a 49-41 lead with six minutes left in regulation. Unfortunately, Isaac Robinson canned two triples during a nine-point spurt to erase the deficit, while the Gators turned the ball over five times and scored just five points the rest of the way.

Valentic led Allegheny with 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting, while Devone McLeod (13) and Stanko (10) also finished the night in double figures.

The Gators powered in front, 15-8, after the first six minutes of action, but went cold from the floor as the Knights pulled ahead, 23-17. Berkeley didn't score in the last 8:17 of the first half, but despite the severe drought, Allegheny's lead was just six (29-23) at the break.
