NEWARK, N.J. – In the first ever matchup with Division I member New Jersey Institute of Technology, Brandon Reeves scored a Beavers-high 14 points and pulled down six rebounds but the Highlanders defeated the City College of New York (4-7), 71-43, on Saturday afternoon at Estelle and Zoom Fleisher Athletic Center.

Reeves went 5-of-10 from the floor and added one block, one assist and one steal while guard Chris Flores led NJIT with 14 points and four steals. The Beavers held the Highlanders to 38 percent shooting but struggled shooting the ball and the stingy NJIT defense forced 21 turnovers and recorded 17 steals.
