ROCHESTER, N.Y – Junior Jack Bramswig (Pleasantville, N.Y./Pleasantville) went off for a career-high 41 points and added a career-best 17 rebounds to pace the Manhattanville men's basketball team as the Valiants picked up an 88-70 victory over D'Youville in the consolation game of the Harold J. Brodie Tournament, hosted by Rochester Institute of Technology on Saturday afternoon at Clark Gym.

Bramswig was absolutely unstoppable on Saturday, hitting 18-of-26 shots from the field on the way to only the sixth 40-point game in program history. The 41 points are the most scored by a Valiant since Tim Mitchell '95 went for a program-record 45 points against Purchase on February 20, 1995 and place him fifth on the school's single-game list. He also added two blocks and two assists in the win, earning him a spot on the All-Tournament team for the second straight week.

Freshman Anthony Maestre (Bronx, N.Y./Mount St. Michael Academy) added 16 points and junior Colin Campbell (Miami, Fla./LaSalle) flirted with a triple-double for most of the afternoon before finishing with nine points, a career-high 10 assists and seven rebounds as well for the Valiants.

Oliver Prince scored a team-high 19 points with nine rebounds for D'Youville and Marcus Clarke and Kyle Clarke both netted 12 points in a losing effort.

Bramswig was dominant in the opening half for Manhattanville, as he single-handedly scored the team's first 16 points of the game as the Valiants opened up a 16-8 lead 6:24 into the contest.

The opening minute was a sign of things to come, when Bramswig grabbed an offensive rebound and sunk a three to open the scoring. He grabbed three rebounds and sunk five of his next seven shots during his personal scoring streak, capping the run with another three-pointer.

The first non-Bramswig points of the game came with 12:16 left in the half, when freshman Andrew Winter (Fresh Meadows, N.Y./St. Francis Prep) corralled his own miss and scored on the put back to make it an 18-10 game. The Valiants opened up their largest lead of the half at 23-10 on a layup by sophomore Mike Murray (Queens, N.Y./St. Francis Prep) with 10:05 to go, but D'Youville scored 15 of the next 17 points to tie the score at 25 on an Anthony Wiechec bucket.

The Spartans held a four-point lead with 2:50 to go in the half before Manhattanville closed the frame with 10 straight points to regain control, as Maestre and Bramswig both had three points while Murray and Quigley had a bucket each as well.

Bramswig posted a staggering 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting and nine rebounds in the first half alone, amazingly setting a new career high for points in a game with the entire second half still to be played.

The Valiant lead remained about the same for the first few minutes of the second half, sitting at four (51-47) with 13:47 to go, before a quick 9-2 run capped by a three-point play from sophomore Nike Emanuilidis made it an 11-point edge with 11:15 left.

Manhattanville reached its high-water mark with 3:22 to go, as a free throw by sophomore Wills Flynn (Miami, Fla./Westminster Christian) made it a 76-57 score with less than four minutes remaining.

The Valiants shot 47.4 percent (36 for 76) from the field for the day, including a 19-for-32 clip (59.4 percent) in the second half to close out the game. D'Youville finished the day with 37.1 percent (26-for-70) shooting from the field.

Manhattanville (6-4) will take part in its third straight tournament to conclude 2012 in two weeks, facing off with Frostburg State in round one of the Randolph-Macon Coaches Classic on December 29 beginning at 1 p.m.
