NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Landon Gamble scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds and No. 4 North Central beat Simpson 65-46 on Saturday night.
Derek Raridon added 16 points and Aaron Tiknis had 10 rebounds for the Cardinals (7-0), who remain undefeated on the season.
Elijah Knox scored 16 points for the Storm (3-5), who saw a two-game winning streak come to an end.
Knox and the Storm were able to contain the Cardinals to better than nine points below their season scoring average, but couldn't figure out the North Central defense which allows a mere 54 points per game.
Just four days removed from its best shooting performance of the season when it shot nearly 60 percent against Graceland, Simpson was held to a season-low 30.6 percent on Saturday.
The Storm have six days off before taking on AIB in Des Moines on Saturday, Dec. 16. Simpson won the first meeting between the two teams 65-50 on Dec. 2 in Indianola. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m.
