 GORHAM, Maine  – Junior guard Conor Sullivan (Scarborough, Maine) scored a game-high 18 points to lead four players in double figures as the University of Southern Maine Huskies rolled to a 92-80 win over the Western Connecticut State University Colonials in a Little East Conference men's basketball game Saturday afternoon at Hill Gymnasium in Gorham, Maine. 

         The win is the second straight for the Huskies who improve to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in the Little East Conference.  Western Connecticut drops to 1-7 overall and 0-2 in the LEC. 

         Sullivan was an outstanding 7-for-12 from the field en route to the game-high total.  Senior guard Alex Kee (Bath, Maine/Morse) added 17 points, while James Odneal (Pontiac, Mich./Bottineau) added 13 points, five rebound and three assists. Junior guard Brandon Tomah(Princeton, Maine/Calais) added 12 points on 4-for-9 shooting.

         Senior guard Shawn Mobilio (Seymour, Conn.) led the Colonials with 14 points off of the bench.  Mobilio was 4-for-5 from three-point range.  Freshman forward Ryan McLaughlin (Colchester, Conn./Beacon Academy) added 13 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals, while freshman guard Phil Starks (Bloomfield, Conn./Prince Tech) tossed in 12 points.

         Shooting an outstanding 57.6 percent (19-for-33) in the first half, Southern Maine led the Colonials 50-31 at the break.  Sullivan scored 15 of his 18 in the opening half, while Odneal added 11. 

         Ahead 19-17 with just over 10 minutes left in the half, USM used an 18-4 run to separate itself from the Colonials over the next five and a half minutes to lead 37-21 with 4:34 on the clock.  Odneal was integral in the run, scoring nine points, including an emphatic dunk.  The Huskies outscored Western Connecticut 13-10 in the final four minutes to close out the half.

         After scoring the first basket of the second half, a layup from Kee, USM led by 21, 52-31, but the Colonials fought their way back with a 12-4 run to pull to within 13, 56-43, with 16:10 to play.  Sophomore forward Luis Bridtter (Stamford, Conn.) scored six of Western's 12 points in the run.  Southern Maine responded, however, with a 5-0 spurt to regain a comfortable 61-43 lead led by four points from Kee.

         The Huskies continued to click offensively and led by as many as 32 points, 83-51, with 8:22 to play and remained in control the rest of the way.  USM led by 22, 92-70, with 2:07 to play before the Colonials rattled off a 10-0 run to close out the game for the 92-80 final. 

         Southern Maine finished the game shooting a red-hot 55.4 percent (31-for-56) from the field.  Western Connecticut shot 50.8 percent (30-for-59) from the field.

         Southern Maine returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts UMaine Farmington (7:00 p.m.).  Western Connecticut travels to Clark (Mass.) on Tuesday (6:00 p.m.).
