Staten Island, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Basketball team fell to the Dolphins of the College of Staten Island in a City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) match up, 80-69, at the CSI Sports & Recreation Center on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, BC drops to 0-4 overall on the season and 0-1 in the CUNYAC; while CSI improves to 3-1 overall on the year and 2-0 in the conference.

BC senior forward Kavon Baker led all scorers with a game-high 27 points on 9-for-20 shooting from the field, including going 1-for-3 from three and 8-for-11 from the line. Baker also had five steals and three assists on the day. Classmate Steven Grant chipped in with 20 points doing most of his damage from beyond the arc going 4-for-5, while freshman Egzon Gjonbalaj had the best game of his young career, contributing with 10 points, a team-high seven rebounds and three steals coming off the bench.
CSI was paced by Javon Cox, who recorded a double-double with a team-best 25 points, to go with a game-high 13 rebounds. Jon Chadwick-Myers added 22 points and seven assists, while Matthew Van Manen chipped in with 15 points and eight rebounds.

Still trailing by 13, 21-8, with 10:48 left in the half, the Bulldogs began to claw their way back into the game, eventually cutting their deficit to one, 31-30, on a lay-up from sophomore Jerome Hayden, with 2:31 remaining before the halftime break. The Dolphins would eventually head into the locker room with a 36-32 halftime lead.

CSI would once again push their lead back into double figures in the second half, as the Dolphins would lead by as many as 22, 74-52, with 4:56 remaining in the game, following a pair of free throws from Kevin King. The deficit would be too large for BC to overcome, as CSI would go on to take an 11-point, 80-69, victory.
