NEW YORK – Anthony Lewis and Brandon Reeves put on a rebound clinic on Saturday afternoon at Nat Holman Gymnasium as the forward duo led the City College of New York men's basketball team (2-0) to a 68-66 victory over Berkeley College (2-2).

Lewis posted game-highs of 20 points and 19 rebounds, nine offensive rebounds, on 7-of-13 shooting while Reeves recorded 10 rebounds to go along with 18 points as the duo relentlessly crashed the boards in the two-point victory.

City College also dominated in the paint, outrebounding the Knights, 53-41 and made key free throws down the stretch to preserve their lead and begin the 2012-13 campaign 2-0, tying last season's win's total.

The Beavers entered halftime with a 30-27 lead as Lewis posted a double-double in the first half with 10 points and 15 rebounds. However, CCNY struggled shooting the ball offensively as the Beavers shot 29 percent in the first half but made up for it by making 10-of-14 free throws.

The Knights came out firing three-pointers in the second half and connected on 8-of-13 to cut the Beavers lead to two but fouls proved to be costly for Berkeley as CCNY connected on 30 free throws from the charity stripe.

Guard Issac Robinson posted a double-double for the Knights with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

City College concludes its three game home stand on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 6 PM as the Beavers host SUNY Maritime College at Nat Holman Gymnasium.
