Outscored Down The Stretch in Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (11/25/11)-- Concordia was outscored 15-4 down the stretch and lost to Nebraska Wesleyan 66-52 in the Snyder Classic Tournament at Nebraska Wesleyan on Friday. The Cobbers pulled to within three points late in the game but then the Prairie Wolves pulled out the victory by connecting on their free throw chances in the final minutes of play.

The loss is the second straight for the Cobbers who fall to 1-2 on the year. Nebraska Weslyan wins for the third time in the first four games of the season and improves to 3-1.

Three-point field goal and free throw percentage had a major impact on the game. Concordia did not make a single 3-point field goal in the game. The Cobbers went 0-for-10 from behind the arc. That proved to be one of the differences in the game as Nebraska Wesleyan was 4-for-12 from 3-point range. CC was 20-for-29 (69.0%) from the free throw line while the Prairie Wolves shot 82.4% (14-for-17) from the charity stripe.

Junior guard Aaron Lindahl was one of two CC players in double figures for the game. He went 11-for-12 from the free throw line and finished with 15 points. Junior center Jason Huus had his third straight double-digit scoring total of the season. He finished with 13 points. Ebo Nana-Kweson added nine points and Brandon Fisher came away with eight points on the night.

Concordia will play Luther on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 5:30 p.m.in the third game of the Snyder Classic in Lincoln, Neb.
