THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - Aaron Van Klaveren was named an All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Men's Basketball First Team selection on Monday.

The senior center led the conference averaging over 12 rebounds per game in SCIAC play. He also led the league in field goal percentage (.614), ranked fourth in scoring (16.4 ppg) and sixth in blocked shots (11).

Van Klaveren holds three top-12 Division III national rankings following the conclusion of the team's regular season. He ranks eighth grabbing 11.4 boards per game, 10th shooting over 62 percent from the field, and 12th with his 16 double-doubles this season.

In 14 conference games this season, Van Klaveren posted 10 double-doubles. During the season he became the 25th player in program history to score over 1,000 career points. He finished his career with 911 rebounds which ranks second best in Kingsmen basketball history.

Van Klaveren was tabbed an All-SCIAC selection for the second time in his collegiate career. He earned second team honors as a freshman in 2009. He was also named the D3hoops.com West Region Rookie of the Year that season.

Cal Lutheran (11-13, 7-7 SCIAC) finished the regular season winning five of its final six games. The Kingsmen finished fifth in the final conference standings.

Chris Blees of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps was named the SCIAC's Most Valuable Player. Pomona-Pitzer freshman Jack Klukas was named the SCIAC's Newcomer of the Year.
