In what became the storyline for the DePauw men's basketball team over the last month, the Tigers battled back from an 11-point second-half deficit to tie their North Coast Athletic Conference quarterfinal game at #19 Wooster with less than a minute to play, but the host Fighting Scots scored the game's final eight points for a 59-51 win.

DePauw finished its season at 13-13, while Wooster improved to 22-4 and advanced to the NCAC semifinals with the win. The Tigers finished with losses in eight of their final nine games, but six came by a combined 23 points including three in which DePauw missed potential game winners in the final seconds.

The Tigers fell behind by as many as 12 in the first half at 24-12 after Wooster's Justin Hallowell hit a three with 5:59 left, but DePauw battled back to trail just 26-20 at the break after Barry Flynn's bucket with three seconds left.

Alex Payne's three-pointer four minutes into the second half closed the Fighting Scots' lead to just 28-25 and the Tigers were within just two at 34-32 when Flynn scored with 11:27 remaining.

Wooster responded with an 11-2 run capped by back-to-back threes from Matt Fegan and Justin Warnes which expanded the lead to 45-34 at the 9:18 mark.

The hosts still held a 51-42 lead after Hallowell hit a pair of free throws with 4:23 left, but Flynn and Payne scored on layups and Payne buried a three with two minutes left to trim the margin to 51-49. The teams exchanged turnovers before DePauw's Connor Rich scored off his own steal and tied the game at 51-51 with 55 seconds left to cap a 9-0 DePauw run.

Hallowell nailed a three just 16 seconds later and the Tigers missed a three on their next possession before Doug Thorpe and Hallowell each hit two free throws to push the lead to 58-51. DePauw then missed three three-pointers on its next possession and Wooster wrapped up the win.

Rich led DePauw with a career-high 16 points, while Flynn added 15 and a game-high nine rebounds. Payne added four assists. Hallowell paced Wooster with 25 points and seven rebounds, while Fegan scored 12 on four three-pointers.

DePauw shot 37 percent from the floor to Wooster's 43.9 percent, but the hosts connected on 14-of-17 from the line while DePauw made 7-of-13.
