HARRISONBURG, Va. – Andrew Thorne's basket with seven seconds left in overtime gave Eastern Mennonite a 62-61 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) basketball win over visiting Guilford College Saturday.

The Quakers (17-8, 11-5 ODAC) shot less than 35 percent from the floor for the game and made one of six shots in overtime. Brad Monroe made one of two free throws with 22 seconds left to give the guests their final lead prior to Thorne's game-winner. Josh Pittman shot a contested three-pointer as time expired, but it did not fall.

Eastern Mennonite's Owen Longacre forced the extra period by making one of two free throws with 14 seconds remaining, which tied the game at 57. He led all scorers with 20 points and also had six rebounds. R.J. Sims contributed 12 points and seven rebounds for Eastern Mennonite (11-14, 6-10 ODAC).

Guilford's Josh Pittman and Will Freeman both scored 13 points for the Quakers. The Royals held Guilford scoring leader Gabriel Lowder to three points, matching his season low.

The Quakers await the announcement of the ODAC Tournament pairings, which will come following Sunday's regular-season finale between Virginia Wesleyan College and Washington and Lee. Guilford is assured of finishing in the top six and will play its first tournament game Friday (2/25) in the quarterfinals at the Salem (Va.) Civic Center.
