JOHNSON, Vt. -- The University of Maine at Farmington used a 16-0 second-half run to grab a 66-52 victory over Johnson State College this afternoon at Carter Gymnasium.

The Beavers (15-8 overall, 14-2 in NAC) are scheduled to host Husson University on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The Badgers dropped to 5-17 (5-10).

Andrew Dickey (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) netted 18 points off the bench to power UMF with Ben Johnson (Manchester, Maine) with 14 points and 11 rebounds and Joe McCloskey (Howland, Maine) with 10 points and 11 boards each turning in a double-double. Pet Sumner (Cramerton, N.C.) added 12 points in the victory, including three 3-pointers to spirit the Beavers' 16-0 streak. Dickey and Sumner each connected on four threes.

Andy Bousono led the Badgers in scoring with 13 points, while Brian Phelps provided 12 points and Alen Turan grabbed 10 rebounds.

Phelps' jumper with 18:01 left in the game gave the Badgers a 30-28 lead, but Johnson knotted the game at 30-30 and kicked off 16 straight points for the Beavers. Sumner hit threes on three consecutive trip for UMF to push the advantage to 39-30 with 15:32 to play. After a McCloskey basket, Dickey drained a long-distance shot to complete the run and forge a 44-30 lead for the visitors with a little more than 14 minutes to play.

Johnson St. cut the lead to 49-39 on a Scott Moran trey with 9:20 remaining, but UMF scored the game's next eight points, including a 3-pointer by Dickey and an old-fashioned three-point play by Yusuf Iman (Auburn, Maine), to make it 57-39 en route to the 66-52 victory.
