SCRANTON, Pa. (January 18, 2012) – The Cyclones came from behind in the second half to take an 80-65 win over the Marywood Pacers on Wednesday to improve to 8-9 on the season, including a 4-6 CSAC mark.

After being down 36-24 at the half, the Cyclones were able to come from behind and shoot 7-8 (87.5%) from three-point range to take down the Pacers in the second half in an important mid-season victory over Marywood.

Marywood jumped out early when they went on an 8-2 run to start the game, but junior Max Hughes (Nazareth, Pa./Notre Dame Green Pond) continued his dominance from outside the arc to knock down a three and bring the game to 8-5 early on.

The Pacers were able to take control of the first half however, as they entered halftime with a 36-24 lead including 10 second chance points and seven off of the nine Cyclone turnovers.

Coming out of the half, the Cyclones turned the burners on, going on a quick 15-7 run to bring the score to 43-39 and keep Centenary in range. Down 54-46 with just over ten minutes left, the Cyclones battled back with eight unanswered points to bring the game tied at 54-54 and show some life from the Centenary bench.

After taking their first lead of the game, the Cyclones were able to nail back-to-back three pointers from Colin Horsch (Monroe Township, N.J./Atlantic Christian) and Andy Charles (West Orange, N.J./Montclair) to take a six point lead.

With the help of the momentum from outside the perimeter, the Cyclones continued to push through with a three-point play by senior Larry Lenahan (South Amboy, N.J./South Amboy) as he powered through the paint to put Centenary ahead 65-56 with just over five minutes left in the game.

Another three-pointer by junior Warren Murphy (Ridgefield Park, N.J./Ridgefield Park) put the Cyclones up 68-58 before they were able to run away with the lead to take home an 80-65 win over the Pacers, their second of the season.

Charles finished the game with 16 points, five rebounds, four steals, four blocks, and two assists for the Cyclones while Hughes finished 4-6 from the perimeter for the Cyclones. The key for the Cyclones was the 87.5% shooting from outside the perimeter in the second half to outscore the Pacers 56-29 and take away the victory.

The Cyclones return to action on Saturday when they host Philadelphia Biblical University at 2:00pm.
