POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (December 6, 2011) -- The Vassar College men's basketball team knocked off City College of New York 69-56 behind a 23-point double-double by freshman guard Johnny Mrlik and 18 points inside by freshman center Alex Snyder on Tuesday night at the Athletics and Fitness Center. Mrlik finished with 10 rebounds and Snyder was one board shy of a double-double with nine, both posting career highs in points and rebounds.

Vassar took the lead at 5-4 two minutes into the game on a 3-pointer by junior Jon Herzog and maintained the lead for the game's duration, leading 33-21 at halftime and nursing a double-digit lead for the entirety of the second half. The Brewers shot 49.1 percent from the floor and limited the Beavers to 34.9 percent.

The Brewers (4-2) face Hamilton on the road on Saturday, December 10, at 6:00 p.m. The Beavers (1-7) host Montclair State on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Nat Holman Gymnasium.
