R-MC Runs Winning Streak to Seven with 78-58 ODAC Victory at Emory & Henry

EMORY, VA -- The Randolph-Macon College Men's Basketball team knocked down 10 three-pointers as the Yellow Jackets topped home standing Emory & Henry, 78-58, in ODAC action. R-MC has now won seven straight games and nine of its last 10.

The Yellow Jackets were led by a 15 point performance from Adam Desgain, while Lamar Giggetts had 14 points and Andre Simon had 13. Calvin Croskey also chipped in with nine points and Jamie Robinson had eight. Giggetts led the way on the glass for R-MC, grabbing a game-high nine boards.

R-MC (13-3 / 6-2 ODAC) got off to a slow start shooting and found itself trailing 14-12 with 8:43 to play in the first-half. A Robinson three-pointer sparked what proved to be a 15-2 run over the course of the next four minutes, with a Trent Walker lay in putting the Jackets out in front 27-16.

The Jackets lead would hover around double-digits for the remainder of the first stanza with Croskey pushing the R-MC advantage to 38-27 on a three-pointer with just five seconds to go.

Randolph-Macon started the second-half strong and a bucket by Simon with 16 minutes to go in the game gave R-MC a 43-29 advantage. E&H then rallied with a 15-5 run, pulling within four points when Tyler Driver drained a three to make the score 48-44 with 11 minutes to play.

That would be as close as the Wasps would get as Connor Sullivan knocked down a three-pointer on R-MC's next possession. R-MC would score nine of the next 11 points with a Simon lay in giving the Jackets a 57-46 lead with just under nine minutes to play.

With the score 57-50, Randolph-Macon sealed the game with a 21-6 run, going on top 78-56 on a Chris Hamilton trifecta with under two minutes to go.

Emory & Henry (7-7 / 1-5 ODAC) was led by Malcolm Green's 16 points. The Wasps turned the ball over 17 times, were just 5-of-23 from beyond the arc and 3-of-11 from the free-throw line.

Randolph-Macon will be back in action on Wednesday when it travels to Lynchburg for a 7:00 p.m. ODAC tip.
