MEADVILLE, Pa. – First Team All-Conference wing Tim Brady delivered an outstanding individual effort to lead Ohio Wesleyan past Allegheny, 72-55, at the David V. Wise Center on Saturday. The final marked the largest lead of the game and wasn't indicative of the Gators' competitiveness against another superior conference opponent.

Following a 10-game winning streak, the Battling Bishops entered Saturday's tilt as losers of two straight and were expected to come out attacking. The Gators were challenged to stop a powerful OWU starting contingent, which connected on its first nine shots and didn't endure its first miss from the field until seven minutes into the game.

Trailing 19-7, Allegheny responded with a spirited comeback, manufacturing a 16-6 run that reduced OWU's lead to 25-23 with seven minutes left in the half. Rookie David DiBernardi knocked down a pair of threes during the rally, while senior forward James Ness added two baskets in the paint. The Bishops weathered the charge while slowly building their lead back to 10.

Two free throws by Bernardini and a jumper from Devone McLeod got it back within six as the Gators went into the half down, 35-27.

The second half yielded similar results. Allegheny trimmed the lead to single digits several times during the frame only to see OWU negate the threat with a response at the offensive end. Brady finished with a game-high 29 points on 10-of-22 shooting. Point guard Andy Winters chipped in a solid all-around game with 10 points, nine assists, seven rebounds, and three steals. Two other starters finished in double digits as Marshall Morris scored 12 and Vaughn Spaulding dropped in 10.

DiBernardini matched his career high with a team-best 13 points. He also added a team and career-high eight rebounds in 33 minutes of action. Ness closed with 11 points and five boards, but his impact on the final tally was neutralized as he fouled out of the game with 8:37 to play. McLeod added 10 points and D'Andre Corbin finished with nine points and three steals.

Ohio Wesleyan shot 48.3% from the floor for the game, while Allegheny closed at a 33.9% clip. The Battling Bishops attacked the lane with increased frequency during the second half, and converted 12-of-14 at the free throw line to help trigger the conference road win.
