Mahwah, NJ: Middlebury College snapped the Ramapo College men's basketball three game win streak with a 73-62 win in the Championship game of the Roadrunner Tip Off Tournament. The Panthers even their record at 1-1 while Ramapo falls to 3-1.

The first twelve minutes of the game the two teams traded baskets before Middlebury would take a six point lead, 25-19 on a made three point basket by Jake Wolfin before Ramapo's Will Sanborn sunk a jumper to cut the lead to four, 25-21. The Panthers scored another three by Joey Kizel with 2:45 to go in the half for a seven point lead before Ramapo would cut it down to two, 28-26 on a made basket by Rich Grant, he was assisted by Garett Thiel with 1:07 on the clock. Middlebury made the final basket of the half to go into the locker room up four, 30-26.

In the second half, Ramapo would cut the lead to one on a tip-in by LaQuan Peterkin before Middlebury knocked down a three pointer by Kizel to stretch the lead back to four with 16:40 left in the game. The Panthers would stretch it's lead to eight twice during the game before they started to pull away with a 16-5 run to take a 70-55 lead with 2:04 to go in the game. The Roadrunners would cut the lead to, 70-58 with 52 seconds left in the game on a made foul shot by Peterkin before the Panthers converted on three foul shots between two Thiel made jumpers for a 73-62 final score.

The Panthers, who made it to the 2010-2011 NCAA Final Four and are ranked #5 in the D3hoops.com Pre-Season poll shot 46% from the field and 60% from the foul line while Ramapo who earned 48 points, equaling a 31st ranking shot 36% from the field and 60% from the foul line.

Sanborn led the Roadrunners with 17 points while Peterkin posted a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds. Thiel added ten points of his own while he dished out a team high six assists and three blocks. Thiel and Sanborn were named to the All-Tournament team for their efforts.

Ramapo returns to action on Tuesday, November 22nd at 7pm when they host non-conference rival Manhattanville College.
