PETERKIN LEADS RAMAPO OVER MANHATTANVILLE

Mahwah, NJ: LaQuan Peterkin led the Ramapo College men's basketball team to a 99-72 win over non-conference rival Manhattanville College tonight at the Bradley Center. With the win the Roadrunners improve to 4-1 on the year while the Valiants fall to 1-3.

Peterkin was a perfect 11-11 from the floor and went 7-10 from the foul line as he tallied 29 points, a season high. He also grabbed five rebounds and one steal while adding one block and one assist. Will Sanborn posted 22 points, 8-16 from the field while grabbing ten rebounds for a double-double. Garret Thiel posted 13 points as he was perfect from the foul line going 5-5 while dishing out five assists. Elvonney Poole posted 12 points and Jermaine Emanuel added ten points of his own while he dished out a team high six rebounds and three steals.

The Roadrunners shot 59% from the field (36-61) while they went 25-35 (71%) from the foul line. Ramapo took a 46-37 lead into the locker room before they had a 12 point lead with 16:57 to go in the second half. The Valiants cut the lead to seven, 53-46 with a three pointer at 16:22 before Ramapo stretched their lead to 23 with a 13-0 run later in the half, 75-52 with 9:23 on the clock with two made foul shots by Patrick O'Connell.

Ramapo saw their biggest lead of the game with 2:23 left in the half on a made layup by Sanborn, he was fouled on the play on converted the foul shot for the 97-64 lead.

The Roadrunners return to action on Monday, November 28th at 7:00pm as they host the University of Scranton.
