First Half Deficit Too Deep for Ravens

More news about: Rosemont

GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Rosemont College men's basketball team never led tonight and were outscored 36-21 in the first half of tonight's non-conference game at Arcadia University. A comeback bid from the visiting Ravens would fall short as the host Knights prevailed tonight by a final score of 70-58. The Ravens dropped to 5-4 overall (3-2 CSAC) and the Knights improved to 6-4 (2-0 Commonwealth) with the result.

Going into the locker room at the half, the Ravens trailed 36-21, their largest deficit of the game at that point. The Knights opened up an 18 point lead, 39-21 a couple of minutes into the second half; a lead they would hold until 14:37 was left with the Ravens trailing 45-27.

Rosemont tried a comeback, outscoring the Knights 16-4 to sneak to within six points at 49-43 with 9:32 left, but the Knights were able to foil the Raven's bid.

Leading scorer for Rosemont was senior Harrison Carsillo (Collingswood/Collingswood, NJ) with 15 points. Carsillo was also the Raven's leading rebounder, reeling in seven boards. Other Ravens scoring in double-figures were juniors Justin Chaney (Williamstown/Williamstown, NJ) with 13 and DeAndre Jordan (Henry E. Lackey/Marbury, Md.) with ten.

For the Knights, Travis Saltus (19), Joe Brown (12) and Aaron Lee Webb (11) hit double-figures. Colin McCarthy led the Knights with seven rebounds.

The Ravens have one more test before taking their Winter Break. Their next game is a non-conference home game against Penn State-Brandywine on Sunday, 12/18. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00pm in Alumnae Hall.
