DePauw closed to within three points in the final minute, but visiting Ohio Wesleyan scored nine of the next 11 and defeated the Tigers, 67-60. DePauw dropped to 5-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play, while the Battling Bishops improved to 8-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play.

The Tigers suffered a blow early when Sean Haseley picked up his second foul just 3:15 into the contest and spent the rest of the half on the bench. DePauw's last lead came at 10-8 after Kevin Sullivan hit a three with 13:19 left in the half.

After the Bishops extended the lead to five, DePauw came right back to close the margin to 22-21 following Barry Flynn's bucket with 3:50 left. Ohio Wesleyan scored the final seven points of the half to head to the break with a 29-21 advantage.

The lead went to 10 early in the half before Haseley scored on a jumper and hit a three to make it 33-28. The Tigers closed to within one at 40-39, but a 12-4 OWU run pushed the margin back to 52-43 with 7:15 remaining.

Haseley scored on a layup before Flynn hit two free throws and Tommy Weakley's nailed a three to cut the Bishops' lead to 52-50 with 5:05 left. The guests countered just 16 seconds later as Tim Brady converted a three-point play to make it 55-50.

Both teams were scoreless until Brady knocked down a three with 2:05 left to extend the lead to eight. Weakley hit a three to trim the margin back to five and Flynn made a pair of free throws to make it 58-55 with 1:10 remaining.

Andy Winters' three-point play with 52 seconds left made it 61-55, while Sullivan's layup closed the gap to 61-57 with 36 seconds left. Marshall Morris gave OWU a 63-57 advantage with 23 seconds left after hitting two free throws. The Tigers missed a three on the other end and Brady's fast break dunk and two free throws sealed the win.

Weakley led DePauw with 15 points on 5-of-8 three-point shooting, while Flynn added 14 points and eight rebounds. Weakley also dished out four assists.

Brady led all scorers with 33 with Winters adding 11. Morris grabbed eight rebounds, dished out three assists and blocked three shots. Winters and Eric Easley also had three assists in the win.

The Tigers shot 36.1 percent for the game to Ohio Wesleyan's 41.1 percent and DePauw held a 39-34 edge on the boards for a 13-7 lead in second-chance points.
