DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Nathan Bollinger's 3-point play with 49 seconds remaining put Delaware Valley College ahead to stay and the Aggies held on at the end for a 66-65, non-conference victory over visiting Arcadia University.

Delaware Valley snapped a three-game losing skid as it improved to 2-5 on the young season. Meanwhile, the Knights saw their three-game winning streak come to an end as they fell to 4-3.

The Aggies held a 34-30 advantage at the intermission, but Arcadia's Jason Thompson cut into that as he hit a trey just nine seconds into the second half. The Aggies answered with a 16-6 run to turn a one-point lead into a 50-39 advantage with 12:32 remaining. Daulton Derr had seven points while Jay Donovan added five to lead the spurt.

However, the Knights responded by scoring the game's next 11 points, including seven by Travis Saltus, to tie the contest just three minutes later. The teams then traded leads with Arcadia going up 62-61 on a Joe Brown layup with 2:05 left.

It stayed a one-point game until the clock ticked under a minute to go. Bollinger got out on a fast break and he hit a running layup while being fouled. He sank the ensuing free throw for a 64-62 Aggie advantage.

Arcadia's Joe Brown missed a jumper at the other end and Nate Lewis grabbed the rebound and was fouled. Delaware Valley inbounded from underneath its own basket and broke the Knights' press. Daulton Derr finished it with a breakaway dunk with 23 seconds to go for a two-possession game.

Arcadia did not go away as Saltus hit one free throw with 17 seconds left. After Jeremy Beckett missed the front end of a one-and-one, Khalief Trawick came down and hit a layup with nine ticks to go to make it a 66-65 ballgame.

Bollinger was fouled with 7.1 seconds remaining and he missed the front end of a one-and-one as well. The Aggies had a foul to give and did so at halfcourt with 4.4 ticks on the clock. After both teams called timeouts, Arcadia inbounded the ball but could not get a shot off before the buzzer and Delaware Valley had the win.

Beckett, who returned to the starting lineup after missing the last two games with an injury, led all players with 19 points. The all-conference forward/center also added seven rebounds and three blocks. Donovan and Derr had 14 and 11 points respectively, and the two combined for 11 rebounds. Bollinger added 11 points in the win.

Saltus had 14 points and five assists for Arcadia. Trawick finished with 13 points while Brown and Aaron Lee-Webb also hit double digits with 12 and 11 points respectively.
