DePauw held off a late run by visiting Earlham and improved to 4-1 with a 78-74 win over the Quakers. Earlham dropped to 0-6 with the loss.

Earlham led early, but the Tigers scored 14 straight late in the first half and held a 41-30 halftime lead. DePauw's lead reached as many as 14 at 58-44 before the Quakers chipped away and trailed by just six at 62-56 with 7:20 remaining.

DePauw's Michael Wilkison hit six straight free throws to start a 7-2 run which pushed the lead to 69-58 with 4:47 left. Earlham scored the next six after the Tigers were unable convert on the offensive end.

The Tigers pushed the lead back to seven on a couple of occasions with the last coming with 2:00 left at 73-66. Colton Bragg's three-point play with 38 seconds left trimmed the margin to 73-69. The Tigers then missed a pair of free throws which set up Kyle Calder's jumper with 26 seconds remaining to make it 73-71.

Tommy Weakley buried two free throws with 21 seconds left and Wilkison hit one with 10 seconds remaining to make it 76-71. Calder knocked down a three with 3.6 seconds left to close the gap to 76-74, but Weakley sealed the win with two more charity tosses.

Barry Flynn led the Tigers with a career-high 25 points and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds. Weakley added 19 and hit four three-pointers. Wilkison followed with 11 points and three assists.

Josh Green paced five Earlham double-figure scorers with 15 followed by Calder and Bragg with 14 each. Ryan Taylor and Marcus Bledsoe each scored 10. Justin Barger hauled down six rebounds and Calder dished out five assists.

Each team shot 50 percent from the floor with Earlham hitting 9-of-18 from three-point range and DePauw 7-of-20 from beyond the arc. The Tigers knocked down 21-of-27 free throws including 20-of-26 in the second half.
