Hood Thumps Penn State-Mont Alto, 86-67

MONT ALTO, Pa.--The Hood College men's basketball team (12-10) registered an 86-67 nonconference win over Penn State-Mont Alto (7-9) Monday evening.

First-year Cameron Cook buried a career-best seven three-pointers en route to a 29-point performance to lead four Blazers in double figures. Brenden Straughn, Justin Stone and Tyler Snoots all chipped in 10 points apiece while Jamal Bell knocked down a pair of threes for six points off the bench.

Hood, which picked up its second win over the Nittany Lions on the season after earning a 93-59 victory in its season opener, shot 38.8 percent from the field and led 47-25 at halftime.

Edward Thomas had a productive four minutes of action off the bench, hitting 2-of-3 from the field including a trey. Reco Siler added five steals for the Blazers while Luis Cotto dished four assists.

The Blazers return to Capital Athletic Conference play Wednesday at the University of Mary Washington. The Eagles are a half game in front of the Blazers for third place in the standings.
