Doylestown, PA (February 6, 2011) – Four players reached double digits and the DeSales University men's basketball team dominated the glass, out-rebounding Delaware Valley College, 49-29, in an 83-73 win over the Aggies to move into sole possession of first place in the Freedom Conference with four games to play in the regular season.

Junior Bob Zanneo led DeSales (16-5, 7-3 Freedom) with 18 points and added nine rebounds off the bench.  Senior Brian Hunter tallied 16 points, grabbed six rebounds, and dished out eight assists in another excellent all-around game.  Freshman Paul Pammer netted a season-high 15 points and sophomore Brett Moyer recorded his seventh double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Jeremy Beckett also recorded a double-double with 30 points and 11 rebounds, while also blocking six shots.  Senior Jason Goldheimer finished with 17 points on 5-of-10 shooting from outside the arc and fellow senior James Jones totaled 12 points and seven assists in the loss.

The Aggies were on fire to start the game as Becket threw down two dunks and Goldheimer was good on consecutive three's as Delaware Valley (12-9, 6-4 Freedom) raced out to a 15-2 lead at the 16:30 mark.

Things settled down after that as the Bulldogs began chipping away.  Down 22-12 at the 11:47 mark, the Bulldogs used a 16-6 run over the next 5:29 to tie the game at 28.  Six different players scored including four points each from Zanneo and Moyer.

DeSales eventually took a 37-32 lead with 3:33 left in the opening twenty minutes before the Aggies responded, tying the game at 41 at the break.

After DVC scored first to open the second stanza, DSU used an 8-0 run to take a 52-45 lead at the 13:46 mark and did not trail the rest of the way.  The Aggies did tie the game twice with the last coming at the 9:45 mark, 58-58, but a quick three from Zanneo ignited a 7-0 spurt.

Delaware Valley did get within one point, 72-71, with four minutes to go but a three-pointer from deep in the corner from Pammer, followed by a lay-up from Pammer with 2:36 to go put DSU up four and Zanneo and Pammer made 6-of-6 from the charity stripe over the final 67 seconds to ice the game.

The Bulldogs will return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Misericordia University for another critical Freedom Conference game in the quest to earn the #1 seed in the Freedom Conference playoffs.  Tip is set for 8:00 pm.
