Midway through the conference season, the Knights came up with a huge 81-50 victory over the Britons of Albion. At the midpoint of the MIAA schedule, the Knights are tied for second place in the league standings with Adrian at 5-2, one game behind league-leading Hope (6-1).

Calvin maintained the lead throughout the game and limited the Britons to 30.2% shooting.

The Knights opened the game on a 12-2 run, forcing a timeout from Albion Coach Jody May.  Calvin continued to dominate every facet of the game, and concluded the first half on top 42-17.  Led by senior Brent Schuster's 3-4 mark, the Knights shot 7-12 from beyond the arc in the first half. 

Calvin continued to roll in the opening stages of the second half, which has plagued the Knights on more than a few occasions this year.  Schuster threw down a two-handed dunk from the baseline and senior Danny Rodts knocked down a deep three to start the half.
Calvin stayed hot from the field throughout the game, shooting 56.5% overall and 12-21 from the perimeter. 

Coach Kevin Vande Streek noted the Knights' strong defensive performance, singling out Rodts' efforts in holding J.C. Cruse, Albion's leading scorer, without a point. 

"That was a great win.  We started really well and maintained our defensive focus," said Vande Streek. 

Calvin was led in scoring by Schuster and sophomore Tom Snikkers, who each had 15 points.  Rodts scored 12 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.  Eight players scored five points or more for the Knights.

Calvin hosts its conference leading rival, Hope, on Saturday.
