St. Mary's City, Md. – Senior captains Sam Burum (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) and Alex Franz (Catonsville, Md./Cardinal Gibbons) combined for 36 points as No. 13 St. Mary's College of Maryland swept the season series with Stevenson University Saturday afternoon, posting an 86-55 Capital Athletic Conference victory over the visiting Mustangs.

Burum notched 19 points, four rebounds and three steals while Franz picked up 17 points, six boards, four assists and four steals.  First-year center Christian MacAuley (Silver Spring, Md./Paint Branch) hauled in a game-best 10 caroms while adding five points, five blocks, three steals and two assists.

The Seahawks (14-4, 8-1 CAC) owned a 48-19 halftime advantage as the team shot 59.4% (19-of-32) from the field.  Burum and Franz led all scorers in the first half with 15 and 13 points, respectively.  St. Mary's never led by less than 20 after the 3:39-minute mark of the first stanza.

The Seahawks' biggest margin of 36 points came in the second half at the 12:28 mark and again with 2:05 remaining in the game.  St. Mary's out-rebounded the Mustangs by a 39-29 margin while recording 32 points off 21 Stevenson miscues.

Stevenson (5-13, 1-8 CAC) was led in the loss by sophomore center Danny Murphy (Severn, Md./Glen Burnie).  Murphy scored a game-best 23 points while grabbing five rebounds.  First-year forward Stefon McCray (Baltimore, Md./Curley) also finished in double digits with 12 points and contributed four boards.

St. Mary's travels to Frederick, Maryland next Wednesday, January 26 for another conference tilt against Hood College.  Tip-off is at 8:00 pm and the game will be played at Fort Detrick's Odom Fitness Center.  All fans MUST bring a government-issued ID, such as a driver's license or passport.  Fans arriving to Ft. Detrick prior to 6:00 pm on weekdays must use the Old Farm Gate entrance.  After 6:00 pm on weekdays and on weekends, fans may use the Veterans Gate entrance off of 7th Street.  Parking and admission are free to all games.
