DOVER, Del. - Wesley College's Rudy Thomas (Milton, Del./Sussex Tech) sank a 23-footer with seven seconds left for the win in a 68-67 victory over visiting Hood in Capital Athletic Conference play.

The shot negated a furious come back attempt by the Blazers (9-8, 5-4 CAC), who had erased an 18-point Wolverine (12-6, 8-1 CAC) lead in the second half.  Hood whittled the lead down and tied the score on a fastbreak lay up at 58-58 with 3:17.  A lay up by Tyler Snoots on an inbounds play with 40 seconds left put the Blazers up 67-65.

Wesley got the ball and Darrell Johnson (New Castle, Del./Howard) missed a jumper but got his own rebound.  With the clock winding down Chris Douglas (Landover, Md./Jericho Prep Academy) swung the ball to Thomas who drained a deep three over the defense for the game-winner.

After a timeout by each team, Hood came down and found Brendan Straughn in the corner but his shot was off the mark as time expired.

Hood had jumped out to an early lead in the game, 11-4, but Wesley scored the next 10 points and later closed the half with a 10-2 run to take a 33-21 advantage into the locker room.

A pair of free throws with 14:31 to go in the game by Douglas, stretched the Wolverines' lead to 46-28.  A 15-2 run by the Blazers trimmed the lead to single digits.

Paul Reynolds (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) poured in a game-high 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting, including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc.  It was the fifth time in the last seven games he reached 20 points.

Douglas added 15 on 6-of-10 from the field and Thomas came off the bench to go 4-of-6 and finished with 12 points.  Thomas' game-winning three was the lone three the sixth man made in the game.

Tyler Snoots scored 16 of his 18 points and grabbed 10 of his 11 rebounds in the second half to lead Hood's comeback attempt.  Cameron Cook and Straughn finished with 13 points apiece, while Justin Stone chipped in with 12 points, eight rebounds and four assists.

Wesley hit 11-of-14 free throws (79 percent) in the game, while the Blazers managed to make just 9-of-22 attempts (41 percent).

The win extended teh Wolverines' win streak to seven games entering a home game against Salisbury on January 29 at 4:00 PM.
