Marymount Men’s Hoops Earns First CAC Win

Arlington, Va. – Marymount University's men's basketball team earned its first Capital Athletic Conference win of the season with a 73-55 victory over visiting Stevenson on Saturday night.  A pair of Saints posted double-doubles in the win.

Freshman Reed Scott led the Saints (3-13, 1-6 CAC) with a double-double, posting game-highs of 22 points and 16 rebounds.  Junior forward Tarek Ammoury added a double-double of his own with 20 points and 10 boards.

Marymount outshot the Mustangs 45.2 percent to 30.5 percent and outrebounded its guests 48-34.  The Saints dominated down low, scoring 28 points in the paint and converting 20 second chance points thanks in part to 10 offensive rebounds.

Greg Woody paced the Mustangs with 22 points to tie Scott for the game-high.  Brett Burrier added 16 to go with nine boards.

Marymount closes out the first half of the CAC season at home next Wednesday against Wesley at 8 p.m.
