HIRAM, Ohio – Senior Seth Eisner poured in a career-high 19 points, but a sizzling offensive effort by Hiram proved difficult to offset as the host Terriers raced to a 93-68 victory over Allegheny at Price Gymnasium on Wednesday night.

Eisner delivered a sensational offensive effort, but unfortunately for the Gators, he accounted for nearly all of the team's production from the outside. Eisner finished 5-of-7 from beyond the arc while the team closed 6-of-18. Meanwhile, Hiram enjoyed a hot touch from the perimeter for most of the evening. The Terriers knocked down 7-of-10 from three-point range in the first half and finished the game 12-of-22.

Hiram (8-7, 2-4 NCAC) showcased superior bench play and was led by Hassan Muhammad, who scored 19 points and hauled in a game-high 11 boards. Aaron Stefanov came off the bench to score 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting from deep while the starting unit was paced by Chris Roberts, who scored 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting.

Sophomore Devone McLeod added 14 points and a season-high seven assists for the Allegheny (5-10, 2-5) attack, although the Gators' offensive efficiency was unable to match a blistering performance by the Terriers. Allegheny shot a solid 50% from the field for the night, but Hiram closed at nearly 58% while taking eight more shots.

Two early three's by Eisner and a two-handed baseline dunk by junior Donte Briscoe had the Gators' in front, 8-6, just four minutes into the action. The Terriers orchestrated a 16-4 run over the next six minutes to build a 22-12 lead, although Allegheny responded out of a timeout with an 8-2 run of its own to slice the deficit to four with eight minutes left in the opening half (24-20). A 21-6 run by Hiram out of its own timeout expanded its advantage to 45-24 with three minutes on the clock. From that point, the Terriers were sailing with the wind at the backs.

Trailing 50-31 at the break, the Gators were able to get as close as 16 after Eisner knocked down another triple with just under 18 minutes to go. The Terriers weathered the initial challenge and rode a commanding edge on the glass and a deep rotation of players in mitigating any damage to the lead. Hiram built its advantage back up toward the end of regulation as head coach Jim Driggs recognized an important teaching opportunity and emptied his bench.

Junior forward James Ness scored all 12 of his points in the second half where he finished 6-of-9 from the field. Although Allegheny was out-rebounded 34-26, Briscoe had 10 caroms in addition to eight points, three assists, and a steal. Rookie Ryan Stanko dropped in nine points while delivering his first multi-assist game.

NOTES: Hiram outscored Allegheny 18-6 off turnovers and boasted a 55-11 advantage in bench points…the lead changed six times in the first five minutes of the game after which Hiram stayed in front…the 93 points was the most surrendered by Allegheny this season while the 23 assists allowed was also a season-high.
