Millikin Men Lose to #19 Illinois Wesleyan

            The Millikin men's basketball team fell to #19 Illinois Wesleyan 75-56 at the Griswold Center on Jan. 12.

            Millikin played a solid first half when the Big Blue hit on 56 percent of its shots.  Millikin had the lead on four different occasions and the game was tied three times in the half.  Wesleyan also had a strong half shooting 50 percent from the field and took a 37-33 advantage into the locker room at halftime.

            The Titans pulled away in the second half and the Big Blue could never mount a comeback.  Illinois Wesleyan shot 52 percent from the field for the game while Millikin shot 46 percent.  Illinois Wesleyan was 11-22 (52.4 percent) from three point range where Millikin went 3-14 (21.4 percent).  The Titans out rebounded the Big Blue 33-25.

            Millikin got a career high 24 points from Kyle Taylor who went 10-14 from the field and 3-4 from the free throw line.  Kelvin Jacobs had 12 points for the Big Blue.  Taylor was Millikin's top rebounder with eight.

            Illinois Wesleyan got a strong showing off the bench from Ryan Connolly who scored a team high 24 points.  Jordan Zimmer had 15.  John Koschnitzky had a team high seven rebounds.

            Illinois Wesleyan is now 11-3, 2-1 while Millikin goes to 1-12, 0-3. 

            The Big Blue travel to North Central on Jan. 15.
