Reynolds Perfect in Wesley Win

SALISBURY, Md. - Wesley College's Paul Reynolds (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) went a perfect 8-for-8 shooting to lead the Wolverines to an 84-76 win over Salisbury in CAC play.

The sophomore forward finished with 22 points and led the team with eight rebounds to go along with three steals in the win.

He wasn't the only Wolverine with a perfect shooting night however.  Sean McAndrew(Lanoka Harbor, N.J./Lacey Township) hit all five of his shots and finished with 13 points.

Wesley's (8-6, 4-1 CAC) other three starters scored in double figures as the Wolverines hit 53 percent from the floor on the evening.

Darrell Johnson (New Castle, Del./Howard) added 14 points, Kevin Johnson(Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) added 10 and Chris Douglas (Landover, Md./Jericho Prep Academy) netted 11 to go along with six assists.

The Wolverines led 18-14 before a 16-4 run gave them a 34-18 lead with six minutes left in the half.  Salisbury (7-8, 2-4 CAC) eventually used a run of their own to cut it to five before Wesley stretched it back to 45-36 at the half.

The Sea Gulls took control in the second half and led by eight after a three by Dylan Robeson with 9:46 to play made it 63-55.  

The Wolverines fought back and took the lead on a three-point play by Reynolds that gave Wesley a 68-67 lead just over two and a half minutes later.  The lead jumped as high as ten, 78-68 after a Douglas three with 3:34 to go and the Wolverines kept Salisbury at arm's length the rest of the way.

Mike Maczko led the Sea Gulls with 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting and added 13 rebounds.  Chris McGrew had a matching shooting line and ended the night with 18 points.  David Pearman used a 7-of-8 effort at the line to fuel a 15-point game.

The Wolverines, winners of three straight, host Mary Washington on January 15 at 4:00 PM.
