RAMAPO EARNS 94-69 VICTORY OVER VASSAR TONIGHT IN MAHWAH

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's basketball team played host to the Brewers of Vassar College in a non-conference match-up tonight at the Bradley Center. Behind 15 points each from Travis Conyers, Ahmad Hassan, and Elgin Brown, the Roadrunners earned a 94-69 victory. The Roadrunners, ranked #21, improve to 11-3 overall while Vassar falls to 1-9.

Conyers shot 7-9 from the field and Hassan went 5-9 with three three-point goals, while Brown chipped in six field goals on 11 attempts. The team combined hitting 62% on the night going 38-61. Stephon Treadwell added 14 points and Will Sanborn added 12 in the mix. Conyers led the team with eight assists and Sanborn, Treadwell, and Brown all grabbed six boards. Caleb McGraw went 11-16 from the field netting a team leading 28 points while the Brewers combined shooting 26-61 (43%) on the night. Nicholas Justiz dished out seven assists and John Donnelly grabbed six total rebounds.

The two teams played the first 7:34 of the game to a 17-17 tie, before the Roadrunners strung together eight points to take a 25-17 lead with 10:19 to play. The run was sparked by a three-point goal from Hassan, before Anthony Hines capped off the run with a two-point goal of his own. Ramapo spent the next ten minutes spreading their lead to 18, their biggest of the half, as Travis Conyers hit the final basket of the half with 50 seconds to play to give his team a 49-31 edge. Conyers, Sanborn, Treadwell, and LaQuan Peterkin led Ramapo with eight points each while the team combined hitting 20-33 (61%) from the field. Conyers dished out a team high four assists. The Roadrunners forced 15 Vassar turnovers in the first 20 minutes of play. Caleb McGraw led the Brewers with 15 points shooting 6-8 while his team went 12-24 (50%) from the field.

Ramapo continued to control the game, earning their biggest lead at 8:16, when a 6-0 run was capped off by a jump shot from Elgin Brown to put Ramapo ahead, 81-52. Conyers sparked the run with a lay-up just one minute prior and the team kept control earning the 35-point victory. Brown scored 11 of his 15 points in the final half shooting 4-6 from the field and a perfect 3-3 from the charity stripe. Ramapo hit 64% of their second half shots (18-28) while the Brewers went 14-37 hitting 38%. McGraw led the Brewers with 13 points in the final 20 minutes of play.

The Roadrunners return to action on Monday, January 10th when they travel to Montclair State University for a 7pm New Jersey Athletic Conference tip-off.
