Hot Shooting Propels Men's Basketball Past Lancaster Bible College, 98-61

RADNOR, Pa. – Behind four scorers in double figures and a nearly 60 percent shooting clip overall, the Cabrini men's basketball team snapped its two-game skid in emphatic fashion with a 98-61 victory against Lancaster Bible College on Tuesday night at Nerney Field House. The Cavaliers' 98-point effort is the program's highest single-game total since a 100-98 win versus Keystone College on Jan. 14, 2010.

Senior forward Dom Farrello paced Cabrini's sizzling offense with a game-high 20 points on 8-for-12 shooting overall and 4-for-5 shooting from long range. Farrello also recorded a team-best six rebounds.

Junior guard John Boyd tallied 16 points on 6-for-12 shooting from the field overall and a 3-for-6 performance from beyond the 3-point arc. Sophomore point guard Cory Lemons scored 13 points, on 6-for-7 shooting, and handed out a season-high nine assists.

Junior guard Greg Zabel contributed a career-high 16 points in just 12 minutes played off the bench. Zabel shot 6-for-9 overall and 2-for-4 from deep. Tonight marked the fourth time this season that the Cavaliers' offense has boasted four scorers in double figures.

Sophomore guard A.J. Williams added eight points. Sophomore center Goran Dulac and freshman forward Fran Rafferty each netted six points for the Blue & White in the victory.

The Cavaliers raced to a 51-36 advantage at the intermission behind a torrid 62.5 percent shooting performance in the opening 20 minutes. Cabrini closed the first period on a 16-4 spurt.

The Blue & White kept its foot to the pedal in the second half, shooting nearly 57 percent from the floor overall and 64 percent from long range. Cabrini jumped out to an 8-2 run to straight the final 20 minutes.

The Cavaliers led by 29 points following a Lemons' lay-in at the 12:12 mark. The Blue & White ballooned its lead to a game-high 39 points with 4:14 remaining.

Cabrini put the finishing touches on the victory with a quality effort from its reserves, especially Zabel. The junior guard scored 11 straight points down the stretch.

Sophomore guard Keith Keltner led the Chargers' offense with a team-best 10 points. Junior guard Madison Warfel and sophomore guard Andrew Risser each tallied eight points.

The victory extends the Cavaliers' home win streak to 16 games, dating back to start of the 2009-10 campaign. The Blue & White last suffered defeat on its home floor on March 8, 2009.

Cabrini (5-3) resumes its Colonial States Athletic Conference regular season slate at home against Keystone on Friday, Jan. 8. Game time against the Giants is set for 5 p.m.
