Hawks Fall on the Road, 82-49, to Division II West Alabama

LIVINGSTON, Ala. ---- Junior Jacob Moody was the only Huntingdon College player in double-figures, as the Hawks fell to Division II West Alabama, 82-49, Monday evening at Pruitt Hall.

Moody finished with a team-high 13 points, while seniors Ephraim Hudson and Adrian Williams added 7 points each. Junior D'Awvalo Turnipseed added 6 points for the Hawks (0-2).

Huntingdon's Jack Montgomery scored the games first points, but West Alabama went on a 16-0 scoring run and never looked back up 20-4. The Hawks trailed by 23 points at the half, 46-23, and did not stop the Tigers offense in the second half being outscored 36-26 to provide the final margin.

Montgomery led the Hawks with five rebounds, while senior James Daniels also chipped in four boards in the loss.

UWA's Alquan Mendenhall paced the team with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Mendenhall was 4-of-9 from the three point line in the contest.

For the game, the Tigers held a 42-29 advantage on the glass. Huntingdon converted 37.3 percent of its shots, hitting 19-of-51, while West Alabama finished 32-of-61 (52.5 percent).

Huntingdon will open up Division III play in the LaGrange Classic against Texas-Tyler on Friday, November 19, at 4 p.m. in LaGrange, Ga.
