Choctaws Fall to Mary Hardin-Baylor, 82-68

CLINTON, MS - The Mississippi College men's basketball team lost their second consecutive home game with an 82-68 defeat to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Tuesday night at A.E. Wood Coliseum.  The Choctaws fell to 4-4 on the season, while the Cru moved to 5-1.

The Choctaws fell victim to a poor shooting night, as they only made 17-48 (35.4%) shots from the floor.  MC also turned the ball over 24 times on their way to their third home loss of the season.

Junior Greg Pulliam led MC with 14 points on 4-13 shooting.  Senior Ken Black was the only other Choctaw in double-figures with 10 points.  The Choctaws were efficient at the free throw line, making 28-37.

Sterling Phillips led UMHB with 22 points, going 10-15 from the free throw line.  James Allen and Marlon Miller each scored 11 points, while Dean Pele added 10.  Greg Wiernas led the Cru with 11 rebounds in the contest.

The Choctaws will be back in action on Thursday, Dec. 30th in the Millsaps Holiday Tournament when they face Belhaven University at 5:00 p.m.
