Saratoga Springs, N.Y. – Four players scored in double-figures to lead the Skidmore College Thoroughbreds men's basketball team to a 61-56 victory over the visiting Trinity College Bantams this evening at the Williamson Sports Center.  The Bantams fall to 5-4 with their second loss in a row, while the Thoroughbreds improve to 6-2.

The teams traded baskets throughout a very physical and defensive first half as Trinity took a 28-25 lead into the locker room.  Skidmore went on a 10-0 run midway through the second half to make it, 53-46, with 3:47 remaining.  Gerard O'Shea (West Sand Lake, N.Y.) began the run with a pair of free throws and then John Mantas (Niskayuna, N.Y.) nailed a jumper before a pair of Terron Victoria (Albany, N.Y.) three-pointers capped the Thoroughbreds' run.  Skidmore never relinquished the lead after that, although Trinity closed to within two with 16 seconds remaining on a three-pointer by senior guard Brian Ford (Bronx, N.Y.), but a pair of free throws from Mantas sealed the game.

Senior guard Ian Fels (Miami, Fla.) and senior tri-captain forward Luke MacDougall (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) each scored 14 and Ford tallied 10 for the Bantams, while junior center Chris Applegate (High Point, N.C.) pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds.  O'Shea led the way for Skidmore, tallying a game-high 15 points as Mantas and Kyle Clark (New York, N.Y.) each chipped in with 11 and Victoria finished with 10.  The Thoroughbred finished 15-18 (83.3%) from the line, while Trinity was 11-17 (64.7%).  The Bantams held a 41-27 edge in rebounds.
