BC Men Dismantle City Tech , 94-76, In First Conference Win

Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Men's Basketball Team (3-3, 1-1 CUNYAC) earned their first conference win on Thursday evening in front of their home crowd at the West Quad Center downing borough rival City Tech 94-76. 

Tech started the game hot, opening up an early 6-0 lead, but the remainder of the game would be all Bulldogs as BC ran and pressed their way to a 54-27 halftime lead.

Steven Grant (Nazareth / Brooklyn, NY) and Ahmad Hemingway (Curtis / Brooklyn, NY) each poured in 15 points in the first half, accounting for 30 of the team's 54 points

The second half saw Brooklyn open the lead up to as many as 29, while remaining in complete control for the duration of the contest.  They Yellow Jackets fought back to get to within 16, 92-76, but with only 56 seconds to play the game was well in hand, as the Bulldogs got their second home win of the season.

Hemingway led BC with 22 points, while shooting 8 of 14 from the field and a perfect 3 for 3 from the line.  The senior guard also chipped in with 4 steals and 3 assists.

Darnell Cudjoe (Murry Bergtraum / Brooklyn, NY) and Tyshawn Russell (Holy Cross / Jamaica, NY) each scored in double figures as well, as Cudjoe tallied 17 and Russell chipped in with 13.

Amil John (South Shore / Brooklyn, NY) had a game-high eight assists, while Brian Shea (St. Edmund Prep / Brooklyn, NY) dished out three while coming of the BC bench.

Nathaniel Young (Erasmus Hall / Brooklyn, NY) led City Tech with 27 points while connecting on 12 of 29 from the field.

Brooklyn will head to Old Westbury on Monday for a 7 pm showdown with one of the Skyline Conference's best teams.
