Miller wins 100th game at MSOE in victory over UW-Eau Claire

OSHKOSH, Wis. -- The MSOE men's basketball took out UW-Eau Claire 61-48 Friday afternoon at the UW-Oshkosh Thanksgiving Classic in Oshkosh, Wis. The victory gave head coach Brian Miller his 100th win at MSOE. Miller is now 100-63 in his seventh season at the helm. The last five seasons have resulted in the five best records in the history of the MSOE men's basketball program.

Three players were in double figures for the Raiders including junior guard Rob Linzmeier who led MSOE with 13 points. Senior forward Austin Meier scored 11 points and pulled down 14 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. Meier scored in double figures and grabbed nine rebounds in each of the team's first three games. He also had four steals in Friday's game which took place back in his hometown of Oshkosh.

Senior guard Bennett Deacon scored 11 points while junior center Eric Bohrer had eight points and six rebounds. The Raiders committed just seven turnovers in the game while forcing 14 Blugold turnovers. MSOE outrebounded UW-Eau Claire 40-34. A free-throw by Meier with 2:51 left in the first half put the Raiders up 19-18 and they led the rest of the way. 

The Raiders (4-0) will face UW-Oshkosh Saturday at 1 p.m. in the team's final game of tournament.
