MEADVILLE, Pa. – First-year head coach Jim Driggs emptied his bench on Tuesday, and the Gators rebounded from their loss in the championship of the Allegheny Invitational with a dominating effort against Penn State-New Kensington. Freshman Ryan Stanko paced an explosive perimeter show as Allegheny leveled its ledger with an 82-44 victory at the David V. Wise Center.

Stanko dropped in a career-high 17 points and was 5-of-9 from three-point territory. Junior James Ness added his second double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds while senior Seth Eisner also displayed a hot touch from the outside to close with 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting from behind the arc.

The Gators shot 50% from the field in each period, but utilized a much better defensive effort in the second half to turn a 14-point halftime lead into a 38-point advantage midway through the second frame. The Blue and Gold received three-point contributions from six different players and finished 13-of-27 from the outside. Allegheny also benefitted from a season-best margin of +11 on the boards (45-34), including a game-high 13 caroms by junior Donte Briscoe.

Allegheny led 25-21 with just over five minutes left in the opening half before back-to-back three's by Eisner stretched the advantage to double figures for the rest of the night. Rookie D'Andre Corbin, who delivered a solid effort at the point, provided the helper on both shots. Corbin finished the night with nine points, a career-best eight assists, and only one turnover.

Allegheny closed the first half on a 13-3 run, and after giving up the first two points of the second, exploded for an 18-0 run over the next six minutes to bust the game open. All 13 available players logged minutes for the Gators while a season-high 11 contributed to the Allegheny attack. The Gators' bench, who helped hold the Lions to 20% shooting (6-of-30) in the second half, scored a season-high 32 points in the non-conference win.
