Mary Washington built a double-digit first-half lead and then hung on to beat No. 1 Randolph-Macon, ending the Yellow Jackets’ 29-game winning streak.

Mary Washington took a 31-19 halftime lead on the defending national champions when freshman Dorian Davis hit his second three with 1:33 to play in the first half. The Eagles pushed the lead as high as 17 at 49-32 on another Davis’ jumper midway through the second period. The Yellow Jackets ripped off 13 straight to pull within three, only to see Davis drain another three and stop the Randolph-Macon run at 52-45. Greg Rowson and Zach Blue scored 16 points apiece, and Davis added 13 off the bench for Mary Washington (3-0). Miles Mallory tallied 15 points and seven rebounds for Randolph-Macon (2-1).

No. 9 Stockton went on the road and defeated DeSales 73-70 in overtime behind 22 points from DJ Campbell. DeSales tied the game at 64-all on a three-pointer by Jordan Holmqvist with 2:08 left in the second half, and neither team scored the rest of the period. In overtime, Stockton took the lead, 71-70, on two free throws from Kyion Flanders, and the Ospreys survived a potential game-tying three at the buzzer.

Hope went on the road and defeated UW-Whitewater, 72-68, thanks to red-hot shooting in the second half. The Flying Dutch shot 65 percent after halftime and had four starters score double figures in the game. Gabe Quillan led Hope (2-1) with 18 points while Carter Capstran posted 22 for the Warhawks (3-1).

Toby Harris' three-pointer with 3.1 seconds left in overtime was the difference, as Brandeis edged Emmanuel, 81-79. The Judges improved to 3-0.

Even though the season is barely a week old, a handful of teams started their conference slate. In Minnesota, Luke Harris netted 24 points on 10-for-15 shooting, and Carleton topped Bethel, 83-77. Yeshiva started Skyline Conference action by plowing through St. Joseph’s (Brooklyn), 102-65. Zevi Samet scored 40 points with 11 three-pointers for the Maccabees (2-2). Washington and Jefferson opened PAC play with a 93-84 win at Bethany.

On the women's side, No. 4 UW-Whitewater made it three in a row against CCIW foes with a 70-61 win over Illinois Wesleyan. The Titans jumped out to a 23-8 lead one minute into the second quarter, but the Warhawks found their footing and cut the deficit to six entering the half. UW-Whitewater completed the rally with a 6-2 spurt at the end of the third quarter, keyed by four points from Lunden Alexander. Kacie Carollo scored eight of her team-high 20 points in the fourth quarter for the Warhawks (3-0).

No. 16 Springfield improved to 3-1 with a 62-56 win at Endicott. Angela Czeremcha posted a double-double (16 points, 18 rebounds) for the Pride who held the Gulls to nine assists against 17 turnovers. All-American Anna Barry scored her 1,000th career point for Eastern Connecticut, but Trinity (Conn.) held off the Warriors, 59-54, in Hartford.

On the first full night of conference play in the ODAC, Bridgewater (Va.) held off Randolph, 59-50. Erika Nettles had 15 points for the Eagles (4-0, 1-0). Shenandoah, Guilford and Washington and Lee also picked up road wins while Ferrum and Roanoke won at home.
