No. 22 Scranton defeated No. 17 Messiah in overtime and Luther upset No. 11 St. Thomas in late afternoon women's action. On the men's side, New Jersey City capped a successful first semester with a buzzer-beating victory at Albertus Magnus.

Bridgette Mann scored nine of her 26 points in the fourth quarter, including two free throws that gave the Lady Royals a 50-47 lead with 10 seconds remaining. Messiah called time out to advance the ball and then found Kaitlyn Hoff for a game-tying three-pointer with two seconds left in regulation. In the extra period Scranton scored eight straight to take the lead and then got four points from Mann in the final minute to close out the 65-60 victory. Recap
Mann and Katie Broderick combined for 42 points on 15 for 27 shooting for Scranton (8-1). Maci Thornton led three Falcons (8-1) in double-figures with 14 points. The Lady Royals outrebounded Messiah 46-27.
Luther has played one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country, but the Norse didn't have much to show for it until Saturday. Luther knocked off No. 11 St. Thomas 77-72 in St. Paul to pick up its first win over a ranked opponent in four tries. Laura Hamilton filled up the stat sheet with 19 points, nine rebounds and six assists for Luther (6-5). Hannah Spaulding scored a career-high 29 points for the Tommies (7-2). Recap
No. 21 Marietta passed an early test in the OAC and tied a school record in the process. The Pioneers upped their record to 8-0, 4-0 in the OAC with an 87-72 win at home over Wilmington. Marietta also started 8-0 in 1985-86 and 1989-90 and then lost its next game both seasons. The Pioneers will try for the program record on Tuesday afternoon when they host fellow unbeaten Washington and Jefferson. Recap
Kendrea Williams, who was the national Rookie of the Year last season, broke the single-game scoring record at FDU-Florham as the Devils crushed Hartwick, 94-66. Williams scored 45 points and hit nine three-pointers, tying her own record set just 12 days ago. Recap
Benedictine won its seventh consecutive game in impressive fashion as the Eagles topped Puget Sound 82-75 in overtime in Tacoma, Washington. Benedictine (7-1) erased a nine-point deficit in the fourth quarter and Venita Parsons scored five of her 22 points in the extra period. The Loggers (4-4) have dropped three straight. Box score
