HPU women's basketball coach Joshua Prock announced he will be leaving Howard Payne to take the head women's basketball position at Division II Eastern New Mexico.
After five seasons at the helm of the Howard Payne Lady Jacket
program, Joshua Prock recorded a 108-31 record tying him for second
all-time in wins at HPU. A search will begin for his replacement
immediately.
"We congratulate Josh on this move to the next level and certainly
appreciate the five years that he gave the HPU women's basketball
program,” said athletic director Mike Jones. “He did a
great job for us and we wish him the best in the future."
Prock's Yellow Jackets won American Southwest Conference titles in
2009 and 2011 and also ASC West Division titles in 2011 and
2013.
This season he led the program to its 10th consecutive 20-win
season, the fifth under his direction. He also was named ASC West
Division Coach of the Year in 2011 and 2013.
"I want to thanks Dr. Lanny Hall, Mike Jones, and Dr. Brad Johnson
for believing in me when they first hired me and also to Dr. Bill
Ellis for his continued belief, faith, and support in me over the
past few years,” said Joshua Prock. “This has
definitely been an outstanding administration to work for. I am so
thankful to all the players who are currently playing and have
played for us over the years nothing would have been possible
without them.”
While at HPU, Prock has coached two ASC West Division Players of
the Year and 18 All-Conference players.
Prock added, “Also want to thank Lindy Hatfield it was a true
honor to work alongside her. I want to thank Meia Daniels as well
for this past year and all her unbelievable work and support. I
know she will continue to do great things with her career. Lastly,
I just want to thank all the support staff, faculty, staff, and
other administration at HPU for all the support they have given me
and certainly want to mention the greatest fan base I have ever
worked with the people of this community are the best and my family
although excited about our new adventure will miss everyone
greatly."
