Earlham will not be renewing the contracts of either its men's or women's basketball coach this offseason, according to a report in a local newspaper.

The Quakers, who will enter their second season of basketball in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference each looking for their first win, went 0-25 in women's basketball under Liana Coutts and 2-23 in men's basketball under Jeff Justus. Justus, in his 13th season, compiled a 112-221 mark, while Coutts was 22-153. Earlham's best season under Coutts was 2006, when the Quakers went 5-21.

"One thing I hope we're able to do is recognize the effort and commitment of all these coaches to try and make Earlham's programs succeed," Earlham athletic director Frank Carr told The Palladium-Item. "I commend and I appreciate and I'm thankful for the commitment that (the coaches) have made toward the student-athletes at Earlham and representing Earlham in a very professional and positive way during their times here."
