Brumfield out at Kalamazoo

Sharri Brumfield, who had turned Thomas More into a national contender, was unable to do the same at Kalamazoo and resigned after three seasons. 

Kalamazoo was 7-63 in Brumfield's tenure. This season, the Hornets were 5-20 overall, 4-12 in the MIAA, showing slight improvement over the previous year's two wins and the zero wins from her first season.

Brumfield had sepnt a year as an assistant at RPI after she was let go during the 2003-04 season at Thomas More despite a 16-5 record. She led the Saints to four Division III NCAA tournaments with two Sweet 16 appearances. Her 1996-97 team was the first in school history to have a winning record and set a school record with 20 wins (20-7).
