Oglethorpe women's basketball coach Ron Sattelle told supporters he was taking "an extended leave of absence" from his coaching duties.

Sattelle, who has had four 20-win seasons in his six years at the helm of the Stormy Petrels, turned over coaching duties to his assistant, Fallon Rehmert, on an interim basis.

"Coach Rehmert is in her third year as an assistant coach with me and I feel confident she will do an excellent job," Sattelle's statement read. "Please pardon the brevity of this announcement. I could go on and give a long detailed explanation but in the end it still ends with the same decision."

Oglethorpe is off to an 0-4 start this season, including two losses at a tournament at Lewis and Clark. The team's next game is much closer to home, tonight, Dec. 1, at Agnes Scott.
