Louisiana College women's basketball coach Janice Joseph-Richard has passed away after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

She was 46.

Janice Joseph-Ricard was the reigning American Southwest Conference and D3hoops.com South Region Coach of the Year.

Last season, her third at LC after coming to her alma mater from San Jose State, she coached the Lady Cats to a 24-3 record, the American Southwest Conference East Divison title, the ASC Tournament title and to the team's first ever appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Richard had been on leave since the beginning of the school year and Jason Tinsley has served as interim head coach.
