Jenkins makes Pistons roster

Three-time D3hoops.com All-America guard Horace Jenkins was added to the Detroit Pistons' active roster and played Friday night, Dec. 3, in an 80-77 loss to San Antonio.

Jenkins, who was invited to camp after spending several years playing in Europe, had been on the injured list with a strained right quadriceps. He played two minutes and had one foul, not taking a shot.

Jenkins led William Paterson to the Final Four twice in his three years with the Pioneers and holds school records in scoring (1,940 points), single-season scoring average (27.1 ppg), single-season total points (841), most free throws made in a season (257) and most free throws made in one game (20). As a senior, he ranked third nationally in scoring (27.1 ppg) and steals (120). For his career, Jenkins averaged 23.7 points and 3.8 assists in 82 games.

Devean George, Division III's other NBA player, is on the injured list of the Los Angeles Lakers. The 1999 first-round pick averaged 7.4 points and 4.0 rebounds last season, his fifth in the league.
