1983 Division III men's basketball tournament

Scranton won its second national title in front of a packed house at Calvin College, where the Royals edged Wittenberg 64-63. Scranton and Wittenberg were each appearing in the NCAA Tournament for the eighth time in nine seasons in Division III. Bill Bessoir, son of Scranton coach Bob Bessoir, scored 27 points to lead the Royals.
