Junior Angie Choi (Cypress, Calif.) led all players with 24 points while producing eight rebounds and three assists for the Engineers. One of three players to reach double digits in scoring for the Beavers, Samantha Reale totaled a team-high 14 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- The first half was a defensive battle as two free throws by Choi late in the second quarter gave MIT a 22-21 edge at halftime.

- In the first three minutes of the third quarter, Babson tallied seven straight points with last five coming from Chloe Perreault. Sparked by a putback from junior Kamsi Nwogu (Algonquin, Ill.), the Engineers went on a 15-6 run which resulted in a 37-34 lead with 1:46 on the clock. The Beavers countered with a layup by Kiara-Simone Davis with 11 seconds left.

- The visitors carried the momentum into the fourth quarter as they outscored MIT, 17-8, and built a 53-45 advantage after two free throws by Rachel McMenemy at the 1:57 mark. The Engineers responded by going 5-of-6 at the charity stripe while a putback by Nwogu brought the hosts within one with 37 seconds remaining. Babson countered with a layup by Reale nine seconds later, however, a three-pointer by Hall tied the game with 22 seconds to go. The Beavers attempted to end the game in regulation, but a trey from Katelyn Mollica was off the mark.

- Babson inched ahead courtesy of Camilla Silk's layup 1:22 into overtime, but graduate student Christina Antonakakis (Holmdel, N.J.) knocked down back-to-back threes to put MIT in front. The Beavers quickly replied with baskets by Reale and Silk, tying the game at 61 with 1:32 on the clock. The Engineers then rattled off six unanswered points, capped by a pair of free throws by Choi with 23 seconds left to play. A jumper by Mollica 11 seconds later kept Babson within striking distance, however, two free throws by Nwogu secured the win.
