NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College women's basketball team suffered a 45-36 setback against Hamilton College on Sunday afternoon at Luce Field House.

The contest was the last home game of the season for the Camels, as well as the final home game in the careers of seniors Jaycie Rojik (Scituate, Mass.) and Molly Cronin (Wellesley, Mass.). The duo was recognized in a special ceremony prior to tip-off.

Taylor Lambo (Watertown, Mass.) recorded a double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds for Hamilton (11-9 overall), which evened its NESCAC record at 4-4. Rojik paced Conn with 16 points and added three rebounds and three steals.

The Continentals scored first on a three-point play by Lambo and played from in front for the entire game. Lambo netted eight points in the opening quarter to stake the visitors to a 16-10 lead after one.

In the second quarter, Hamilton went cold from the field but held onto the lead. Conn closed the gap to 20-17 before Olivia Davis (Norwalk, Conn.) supplied the Continentals' first field goal of the period with 3:21 remaining.

A three-pointer by Courtney Shay (Londonderry, N.H.) later capped the first-half scoring and left Hamilton with a 29-22 lead at the break. Lambo led all scorers with 16 points at intermission, 10 of which came from the free throw line.

The game remained tight in the third quarter as both sides struggled to find an offensive rhythm. Hamilton led by as many as eight in the stanza but took a 35-28 advantage into the final period.

In the fourth, the Continentals pulled away behind an 8-0 run, all of which came from the charity stripe. Hamilton shot 21-for-24 from the line as a team, with Lambo leading the way with a 15-for-16 effort.

The Camels, who forced 24 turnovers, shot just 11-for-22 from the foul line.

Conn College (7-14 overall, 1-7 NESCAC) will next play at Middlebury College on Friday, February 10 at 7:00 p.m.
